Nutrition Support Packages

Nutrition Support provides ongoing nutrition counselling. This is suited to those who would like the advice provided in an initial consultation and ongoing support to implement this. We will address barriers you face to implementing the changes you want. Any you will have longer-term support and accountability. A nutrition package can be tailored to what you want or need. Three typical packages are outlined below.

Digestive Nutrition Package (1-3 appointments, 3 months): This is particularly suited to those who have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Or those who require support with the Low FODMAP diet. This package includes an initial assessment with advice on simple steps to address troublesome tummy symptoms. One appointment may be enough for some people. However, if symptoms have not cleared, then two further appointments will be offered. These can be used to discuss the low FODMAP diet and subsequently, to discuss the re-introduction of FODMAP-containing foods.

Weight Loss Nutrition Package (6 appointments, 6 months): Your first appointment will provide feedback on your current diet and ‘quick wins’ to reduce your calorie intake. Your second appointment is usually one week after your first. The frequency of appointments decreases as you feel you need less support. You will learn about your individual nutrition needs and what foods contain ’empty-calories’. Sneaky marketing, food-labels and how to keep full for longer will be discussed. Your motivation for weight loss, why you eat and unhelpful behaviours will be discussed in detail.

Diabetes Nutrition Package: Ladies with gestational diabetes might wish for input during and for a few months after giving birth. If you have pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes (and need to lose weight), you might choose to book the weight loss nutrition package. Insulin-users, might wish to book a package of three appointments to best address how food can be managed around insulin needs. It can be a great idea to work alongside your diabetes nurse or Doctor at this time.
